Achievements
Kudos to IWJV Partners!
Our greatest achievement is facilitating partnerships who are dedicated to the conservation of bird habitat. Our partners share our vision and work tirelessly to support our mission for long term bird habitat conservation. Our success is only realized through their success.
Since 1994, our partners have succeeded in gaining funding to protect, restore, and enhance more than 430,000 acres of wetlands and associated uplands, at a cost of more than $135 million, which provide secure habitat for a myriad of species.
Much of this has occurred through North American Wetland Conservation Act (NAWCA) grants which have provided more than $29.2 million. And, our partners have successfully matched federal NAWCA funds with over $185.6 million dollars from non-federal partners and $24.7 million from other federal sources.
More than 360 individual partners have been involved in this effort. They include but are not limited to:
Private landowners, corporations and businesses; non-governmental conservation organizations, state and federal agencies, local governments, water and soil conservation districts, private foundations, and various groups and friends of habitat conservation.
